Our Specialty

At Zion Financial Planning, we enjoy a unique freedom to focus on helping our clients succeed financially. Our approach is simple, clear, and straightforward.

We’re client centered. It’s our job to help you succeed, and not the other way around. That’s reflected in our business model and in our personalized service: All of our professional advice and service to a client is based on knowing that client well.

We think and plan long-term. The weather changes; your destination doesn’t. We focus on meeting your long-term goals instead of reacting to fluctuating market movements and 24/7 media hype.

We exercise common sense and discipline. Wall Street is forever peddling complex products and shortcuts that seem too good to be true. We adhere to the wisdom that investing need not be complicated, but that intention and patience are essential to lead to success.

Our Planning Process

Step 1: Getting to Know You

As our relationship begins, we meet with you, ask questions and listen carefully with the objective of fully understanding your goals. We seek to gain a clear sense of your ideal outcome and your acceptable outcome.

Step 2: Designing Your Financial Plan

We use the information that you have shared with us to build your customized financial plan – your Financial Road Map®. Before presenting the plan, we use sophisticated software to test its resilience and effectiveness under a wide range of market scenarios.

Step 3: Asset Allocation

We then develop an ideal asset allocation, carefully balancing multiple types of investments to help you achieve your goals with the smallest possible degree of risk.

Step 4: You Implement the Plan; We Adjust the Plan as Needed

Periodically, we review and update your portfolio in a step we call “rebalancing” according to stringent criteria and/or your choices and decisions.

Normal market movements change the value of various asset classes in a portfolio over time, and rebalancing restores your target asset allocation by selling appreciated securities and replacing them with less-appreciated securities. Over time, we help make sure that you remain on track to reach your goals, always keeping you well informed. And of course, we also adjust as needed, based on any changes that might arise in your situation or your objectives.
